Visa Rules Eased for Foreign Workers at Sochi Olympics

President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that makes it easier for volunteers and temporary workers from overseas to obtain visas during the Sochi Olympics in 2014.

The law, which appeared on the Kremlin website Tuesday, simplifies the visa application process for foreign volunteers and temporary workers by allowing the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee to apply to the Foreign Ministry to issue them with the appropriate documentation.

The new law also envisages giving temporary workers for the Sochi games one-year multi-entry visas with the option of an additional one-year extension.
