Google Goes Down Temporarily for Some Russian Users

Several services run by Internet company Google, including its search engine, email service Gmail and video-sharing site YouTube, became inaccessible to Russian users for several minutes Friday afternoon.

RIA-Novosti, citing data from the website Host-Tracker.com, reported that Google.com was unavailable for some Moscow users at 1:15 p.m.

A Google spokesman told RIA-Novosti that the company was aware of the problem and was attempting to resolve it. The spokesman did not elaborate on what the company believed the problem was.

Google went down temporarily for some Russian users two days last year as well, on Dec. 22 and 27, Lenta.ru reported.
