Construction Crane Falls, Injuring Workers

Four workers were injured Friday afternoon after a crane fell on a construction site in southwest Moscow during a severe storm, the Moscow branch of the Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement.

The 30-meter crane fell at about 3 p.m. a building site on 18 Akademika Semyonova Ulitsa in the South Butovo district of the city.

A spokesman for the Moscow emergencies department told Interfax that another crane had begun to tilt after the first one fell and was also in danger of collapsing.

Strong winds and hail showers swept over the capital on Friday afternoon. Forecasts predict more rainy weather in Moscow until the early part of next week.
