Gross domestic product expanded 4.9 percent last quarter from the same period last year after rising 4.8 percent in the fourth quarter, the State Statistics Service said Thursday. That matched its first estimate on May 15.
Retail and wholesale trade grew 9.1 percent in the first three months from a year earlier, while manufacturing expanded 3.5 percent and mineral extraction rose 2 percent, the service said.
Consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in the week to June 9, the same pace as in the preceding week, the service said. This brings inflation since the start of the year to 2.5 percent, compared to 4.8 percent in the same period of 2011.
