Serb President to Visit Russia

BELGRADE — Serbian President-elect Tomislav Nikolic will attend the convention of the United Russia party this week, an aide said Wednesday, his first foreign trip since being elected.

The aide, who declined to be named, said the trip had been planned before Nikolic's surprise victory over liberal incumbent Boris Tadic in a runoff election.

Nikolic, a 60-year-old former ultranationalist who says he now shares the goal of taking Serbia into the European Union, will travel to Moscow on Friday for the convention on Saturday.
