City Ministers Resign

Two Moscow government ministers answering to Deputy Mayor and foreign-investor point-man Andrei Sharonov left the city administration Thursday.

The resignation of the head of the economic politics and city development department Marina Ogloblina was accepted by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Interfax reported citing unnamed sources. Viktor Orlov, head of the department for trade and services also tendered his resignation, RIA-Novosti reported.

Both officials were appointed to their posts in 2010. Their resignations are the latest development in a long list of staffing changes overseen by Sobyanin since his appointment. There was no official statement from City Hall on Thursday.
