Georgian Teen's Body Found

TORONTO — A body found in the woods belongs to a girl from Georgia who disappeared more than two years ago, Toronto police said.

Mariam Makhniashvili, 17, lived in Toronto for only three months before disappearing outside her school in 2009.

Police said the cause of death was likely a fall from a highway overpass.

The case drew interest after her father pleaded guilty last year to stabbing a neighbor and a couple.
