Boy Dies in Tragic Spider-Man Accident

A 7-year-old boy pretending to be Spider-Man died late Wednesday after entangling himself in a self-made web while playing in his room, the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

According to preliminary findings, the boy's mother found her son hanging from the improvised web at about 8 p.m., after he didn't come to dinner when called.

When last seen, just minutes earlier, he had been acting out a scene involving his favorite superhero, Spider-Man.

The tragic death took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region town of Vetluga, where the boy was in the first grade.

He was described as an active and energetic boy by his teachers at school.

No charges have been filed, but investigators are continuing to review the incident.
