SSJ Coming to Middle East

MANAMA, Bahrain — Russia may sell approximately 60 Sukhoi SuperJet 100-passenger jetliners to the Middle East within the next 15 to 20 years, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said at the Bahrain International Air Show on Thursday, Interfax reported.

"Several dozen jetliners, approximately 60, may be in demand from Gulf countries in the next 15 to 20 years," he told reporters.

Russia is not buying any foreign products at the Bahrain International Air Show. "We offer our products instead," Zubkov said. He said the Bahraini authorities had shown keen interest in Russian aircraft. Bahrain Air may buy from three to five SuperJets, executive director Richard Nuttall said earlier.
