MINSK — The head of Belarus' largest lender, Nadezhda Yermakova, took over as the new head of the central bank, the president's office said Wednesday.
Yermakova, 58, who had run state-owned Belarusbank since 1996, replaced Pyotr Prokopovich, who resigned in June due to health reasons while Minsk was dealing with a forced local currency devaluation and soaring inflation.
