German Dairy, Meat Banned

Russia banned imports of dairy products from 10 German companies and imports of meat products from three others because of bacteria threats, said Alexei Alexeyenko, a spokesman for the government's food safety agency.

The agency plans to meet with German veterinary officials next week in Moscow, Alexeyenko said.

A total of 23 German food suppliers were banned in Russia this year because of so-called microbial bacteria, he said. Last year, the agency restricted food deliveries from 29 German companies for the same reason, he said.
