The number of companies in Russia worth $1 billion or more has reached 188, Finans magazine writes.
That number is 12 greater than the figure for April 2008, before the world financial crisis. Gazprom retains its perennial place at the head of the list, with a value of $205.4 billion, up 45 percent since last year. Gazprom is once again followed in the listing by Rosneft, worth $99.4 billion. The only newcomers to the top 10 are Atomenergoprom, which climbed eight places and increased its capitalization by 153 percent to $44.6 billion in the last year to reach eighth place, and Novatek, which gained 106 percent in capitalization to $41.1 billion and rose 5 places to 10th.
