Winter Crops Satisfactory

Winter crops are in “satisfactory” condition after the country’s farmers lost 37 percent of the summer harvest because of record drought and heat, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sergei Korolev said Tuesday.

About 10 percent of the crops will probably die, which is a “normal” level. Spring crop sowings will cover 30 million hectares, or 2 million more than initially planned.
