Arbitration Court Chief

Anton Ivanov was reappointed as the head of the Supreme Arbitration Court by the Federation Council on Wednesday, Interfax reported.

Ivanov, 45, was a classmate of President Dmitry Medvedev at the judicial department of St. Petersburg State University in the 1980s.

Ivanov said when he was nominated for his first six-year term in the Supreme Arbitration Court in 2005 that the proposal initially stemmed from Medvedev, Rossiiskaya Gazeta reported at the time.
