Zakayev's Case Dropped

WARSAW — A Warsaw court on Thursday refused Russia’s extradition request for Chechen separatist leader Akhmed Zakayev, saying he was no longer in Poland.

Zakayev was detained in the country in September on a Russian warrant for terrorism, murder and kidnapping charges, but was released the same day after a court rejected the warrant’s validity. He then returned to Britain, where he is living in exile.
