Transneft Seeks Tariffs Hike

Oil pipeline monopoly Transneft has asked the Federal Tariffs Service to raise oil transit duties by an additional 2 percent to 3 percent from Jan. 1, a tariffs service official said Friday.

The service, which sets the oil transport fees for Transneft, increased the rate by an average of 3.3 percent on Aug. 1 and by a further 9.9 percent in December, increases that have substantially increased costs for producers.

“Right now we carefully studying [Transneft’s] proposals,” said Denis Volkov, head of service’s department of oil and gas regulation.
