Air Passengers Rise 27.1%

Airlines led by Aeroflot carried 27.1 percent more passengers in January to October than in the same period last year, the Federal Air Transportation Agency said on its web site Wednesday.

Passenger numbers rose to 48.7 million in the period from 38.3 million. Aeroflot’s numbers rose 30.5 percent to 9.5 million, followed by Transaero at 5.6 million, a gain of 32.2 percent on the year.
