Lavrov Seeks UN Statement

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday that Russia hoped the United Nations Security Council would make a statement on North Korea’s artillery attack on South Korea within days.

“Members of the Security Council are already holding consultations on this question,” Lavrov told reporters. “I hope that in the coming days the council will express its opinion and that this will help calm the situation.”
