Yabloko Targets Yakemenko

The youth branch of the liberal Yabloko party picketed the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs building on Gazetny Pereulok in downtown Moscow on Tuesday to demand the resignation of its head, Vasily Yakemenko.

The protesters said Yakemenko might be linked to football fans alleged to have beaten up Kommersant reported Oleg Kashin earlier this month.

Only three people participated in the picket, handing out leaflets to passers-by and agency employees, Ekho Moskvy reported.

Yakemenko, known for founding pro-Kremlin youth groups including Nashi, has repeatedly denied involvement in the attack.
