Cop Cleared in Car Death

Investigators ruled that a teenage girl who died in the Tomsk region last Tuesday after being hit by a car driven by a drunk policeman was actually killed by an ambulance that also struck her, Interfax said Monday.

Witnesses said Daria Nesterova, 15 — one of four teens to be hit by the officer, but the only one who died — was still breathing when the ambulance hit her, said a spokesman for the local branch of the Investigative Committee, Lifenews.ru reported.

The unidentified policeman has been placed in custody, but the ambulance’s driver, Alexander Sukhorebrik, remains free, the spokesman said.
