'Train Poisoners' Detained

The Investigative Committee has detained three men suspected of committing a string of robberies on Moscow region commuter trains that have left at least 17 dead and 15 crippled, the agency’s transport branch said Thursday.

The men targeted drunk passengers, poisoned them with cognac mixed with tranquilizers, and robbed them.

The suspects, Russian citizens Alexei Vygovsky and Ilya Trubanov and Uzbekistan native Shukhrat Dzhurayev, denied all accusations and refused to testify in the case, the report said.
