Judge ‘Rams’ Hummer

A Moscow region judge is accused of ramming a Hummer SUV on Kievskoye Shosse outside Moscow with his Mazda sedan on Friday, injuring two children and a 60-year-old woman, who were all hospitalized, media reports said.

The judge, Mikhail Chertkov, 39, was drunk and driving in the wrong lane at nighttime with his headlights switched off when the accident occurred, Lifenews.ru reported, citing the Hummer’s driver, Nuradin Gasimov, 65.

Chertkov denied driving while intoxicated and said the Mazda was driven by an unidentified man whom he had hired earlier and who had fled the scene after the crash, Gazeta.ru reported. The judge has checked himself out of the hospital and disappeared, the report said.

Investigative Committee said Sunday that it was looking into the incident but had not opened a case, Interfax reported.
