Producer Prices Up in July

Russian producer prices, an early indicator of inflation, increased in July for a ninth month, led by producers of electricity, gas and water, the State Statistics Service said Friday.

Prices of goods leaving factories and mines jumped an annual 6.8 percent after a 9.8 percent rise in June, the service said in a statement. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected an increase of 8.8 percent. Factory-gate prices climbed 0.7 percent from the previous month after a 3.1 percent monthly drop in June, it said.
