Chuvashia Head Confirmed

Chuvashia’s legislature approved Mikhail Ignatyev, nominated by President Dmitry Medvedev, as head of the republic on Wednesday, Interfax reported.

Ignatyev, 48, who has worked in local government since 2002, will replace Nikolai Fyodorov, who governed Chuvashia for 17 years but was not selected for reappointment this year.
