3 Cops Shot in Astrakhan

Three police sergeants patrolling the streets were shot and wounded by unknown assailants in Astrakhan early Wednesday in the second attack on the city’s police in as many days, Interfax reported, citing police.

The policemen were shot in their car under Kubansky Bridge by three unidentified men dressed in jumpsuits, the report said. The police are searching for the attackers.

A police sergeant was stabbed to death and his female colleague was shot from his gun in an attack in an Astrakhan park on Tuesday. The attack was carried out by three local residents who were reprimanded by the police officers, news reports said. Interfax reported that the same gun was used in Wednesday’s shooting.
