Ukraine Lifts Luzhkov Ban

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has personally called Mayor Yury Luzhkov on the telephone to? ? ? ? ? ? ?  inform him that he is not persona non grata in Ukraine anymore, Luzhkov told Interfax.

Luzhkov was banned from entering Ukraine during the presidency of Yanukovych’s predecessor, Viktor Yushchenko, after the mayor said in 2008 that Sevastopol, the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, was never meant to be a part of Ukraine and should be returned to Russia.

Luzhkov may visit Sevastopol in June, said Oleg Tolkachyov, Moscow’s representative in the Federation Council.
