GLASGOW, Scotland -- Celtic appointed Kilmarnock boss Tommy Burns as its new manager, amid allegations of a breach of rules by the Glasgow club.
Burns, a former Celtic player, was given a three-year contract Tuesday at Parkhead after taking Kilmarnock from second division to the Premier League. But Kilmarnock said it will seek compensation for the loss of Burns.
Kilmarnock said Celtic approached Burns while he was still manager, which is illegal under Scottish League rules.
