A prominent musical director was beaten in downtown Moscow in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, Dozhd television station reported.
Yelena Gracheva, who works for the upcoming singer-songwriter Vera Polozkova, told Dozhd that three burly men attacked her on Tverskaya Ulitsa, one of the Russian capital's main arteries, during a rehearsal for Saturday's Victory Day parade.
Gracheva told Dozhd she first received two blows to the head. After she threatened to call the police, her attackers allegedly began kicking her.
Gracheva said she suspected her assailants were police officers or officials from another security apparatus. Gracheva sent text messages to Dozhd later in the night claiming that the men had spat at her and threatened to kill her in front of law enforcement officers.
The motives behind the attack remain unclear.
