Murmansk Gets Digital

Sevtelecom, the network operator for Murmansk, and AT&T Network Systems International have completed the first phase in a project to deliver voice and data communication services to Murmansk, AT&T's Moscow branch announced Tuesday.


According to information released by the company, the deal is the first step in an $11 million agreement signed last year by Sevtelecom and AT&T-NSI to supply and install digital switches for 26,500 subscriber lines in the Murmansk region.


AT&T was contracted to provide the project with optical cables and lines, digital switches and remote exchanges.
