President Dmitry Medvedev will create a personal account on the Twitter microblogging service during his visit to Silicon Valley this week, RIA-Novosti reported Tuesday, citing the Kremlin’s press office.
Medvedev, who will visit California’s Silicon Valley on Wednesday, already has a LiveJournal account and a video blog on Kremlin.ru. A fake Twitter account credited to Medvedev was created in March 2009, but the Kremlin requested in April for it to be deleted.
U.S. President Barack Obama, former Microsoft head Bill Gates and the Dalai Lama are some of the high-profile public figures who have Twitter accounts.
