Sergei Porter / Vedomosti

Three unidentified gunmen attacked and robbed two people in a Moscow market on Wednesday, according to a police spokesperson, the state-sponsored TASS news service reported.

The incident happened at around 8 a.m. in a market on Privolnaya Ulitsa in southeastern Moscow when the gunmen attempted to escape with money they had stolen.

Victims of the attack chased after the gunmen, who fired on the victims with automatic weapons. One of the gunmen was detained but the other two managed to evade capture.

Police are currently searching for the other gunmen and gathering information on the attack in the city's south east.
