England's Costly Win

MELBOURNE, Australia () -- Graeme Hick led England to a 37-run victory over Australia in World Series limited-overs match Tuesday night, but in the process lost all-rounder Darren Gough to injury.

Set a 226-run victory target, Australia was dismissed for 188 in the 48th over. All-rounder Hick scored 91 and picked up three wickets, including the prized scalp of Mark Waugh for 41, and was named Man-of-the-Match.

England paceman Angus Fraser laid the foundations for the win with figures of four for 22 off 10 overs, including the first three wickets to fall.

Gough, masterly for England on the current tour, suffered a stress fracture of his left foot that will rule him out of the remainder of the tournament.
