Becker on the Rebound

SYDNEY (X) -- Germany's Boris Becker had a second-set lapse Wednesday but rebounded to beat American Steve Bryan 6-4, 1-6, 6-0 at the $895,000 Australian Indoor tennis championships.


In earlier matches, Todd Woodbridge of Australia upset fourth-seeded compatriot Jason Stoltenberg 7-5, 6-4 and countryman Mark Woodforde downed sixth-seeded Paul Haarhuis 6-2, 6-3 in first-round matches.


On Tuesday, unseeded Richey Reneberg knocked top-seeded Goran Ivanisevic of Croatia out of the tournament. Only three seeds are left in the 32-man field.
