Three Russian journalists were injured on Monday in Syria, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday, citing officials from the Defense Ministry.
On Monday a group of Russian journalists drove to the front line of the Syrian state army, near the village of Dagmashlia in the province of Latakia, where their press convoy was shelled by an anti-tank guided missile system, the report said.
Three journalists sustained minor injuries, one of them — Roman Kosarev from the RT state-funded television channel ?€” suffered a concussion. A TASS news agency reporter suffered shrapnel in his hand, and RT Arabic's Sargon Hadaya suffered shrapnel in his back and leg, RT reported Tuesday.
According to Kosarev, the missile came from the village of Salma, occupied by rebels.
All the journalists have returned to Russia's Latakia airbase and are receiving necessary medical treatment, Interfax reported.
