16-Year-Old Girl Survives 9-Story Fall in Yaroslavl

A 16-year-old female resident of Yaroslavl survived a 9-story fall and got off with fairly minor injuries, police said Friday.

"The victim was hospitalized with catatrauma (a kind of trauma associated with falls from great heights), and a fracture of the ischiadic bone," a statement posted on the regional police website said.

The girl climbed up to the roof after drinking beer that she purchased at a local shop. Since she is under the legal drinking age, police are now searching for the person who sold her alcohol.
