Russian football fans attacked an LGBT nightclub in Ekaterinburg in central Russia over the weekend, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reported Thursday.

One clubgoer suffered a concussion and had his leg broken after the fans stormed the club and violently attacked him, the newspaper’s local branch reported.

Angry after Russia’s draw in their match against England, the men began shouting gay slurs after seeing clubgoers smoking in the street. They then stormed the club, an eyewitness told Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The attackers also fired air pistols, injuring two people. One victim has filed a criminal lawsuit for assault, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported.

This incident comes after a gunman killed 49 people and wounded 53 others at an LGBT nightclub in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. It was the worst mass shooting in American history.
