No Gay Pride for St. Pete

St. Petersburg City Hall has banned a gay pride parade next Saturday on the grounds that the route planned by organizers will be unavailable, Interfax reported.

City officials said Friday that parts of the route requested by parade organizers will be blocked by road works and other public events scheduled earlier.

The organizers on Friday asked for a new route, which will span Polyustrovsky Park, Novoizmailovsky Prospekt and Chernyshevsky Square.
