Russian TV Show to Find Chechnya's Kadyrov an Assistant

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov

A new reality show, “Team,” set to air on the Rossia 1 state television channel will find Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov an assistant, the Slon news website reported Thursday.

Participants will compete at various locations in Chechnya to “show what they are capable of,” the Vesti news site reported. They will climb mountains, descend to the lakes, walk forest trails and “fully appreciate Chechen hospitality and traditions.”

The winner of the contest will become a permanent member of Kadyrov’s staff and will lead the Chechen republic’s agency of strategic development.

Ramzan Kadyrov was appointed President of Chechnya by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2007. He plans to run again in the upcoming September elections.
