An Ivanovo man was arrested at his own wedding months on suspicion of having killed a man who had previously held a flame for his future wife, Lenta.ru reported Tuesday.
At a party in his home town of Vichuga in June, the suspect killed one of his guests — a man who had purportedly gotten a little too cozy with the woman who would become his wife — by striking him in the head with a ceramic mug.
The suspect was tried, convicted and sentenced to prison for one year and three months, but failed to attend his sentencing hearing.
Local authorities in turn placed him on a wanted list, ultimately leading officers to crash his wedding, according to regional media outlet Ivanovo News.
