After a week of searing heat, temperatures are finally set to drop in the Moscow region with thunderstorms and rain expected in the capital city this week, forecasters have said.
The thermometer will touch 30 C on Monday — roughly 8-9 degrees above average for this time of year — but will drop to 24 C on Tuesday when rain is expected, news agency Interfax reported, citing the regional weather bureau.
Temperatures will reach about 20 C on Wednesday, with thunderstorms and gusty winds also a possibility during the first half of the week, the bureau was quoted as saying.
