65 People Poisoned at New Year's Party in Siberia

More than five dozen people were poisoned at a corporate celebratory trip to a tourist resort in Siberia, the regional Emergency Situations Ministry said.

Sixty-five people sought help after experiencing intestinal pain and indigestion during their stay at the Tyoshchin Yazyk tourist resort in theYakutia region to celebrate the New Year, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Doctors diagnosed the victims with acute intestinal infection and hospitalized 21 employees. All of the victims are in a stable condition, the statement said.

The ministry said that Russia's state health and consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor was investigating the source of the poisoning and has temporarily closed the resort's café.
