Car Gets Swamped While Crossing Bridge in Northern Siberia (Video)

It is not uncommon to see frustrated drivers — especially in Russia — try and whip around traffic on the shoulder of a highway. The ire of their fellow travelers is something they are willing to accept if it means they can get to their destination a little faster. However, one truck driver in northwestern Siberia may have picked the exactly wrong spot to take a shortcut.

A dashcam video on Youtube, set to electronic trance music and featuring strong language, shows cars stopped along the pontoon bridge over the Nadym River because of deep water on the crossing. The water got a lot deeper, though, when a truck pulled around the other cars, causing them to start floating as the bridge partially sinks.
