Medvedev Tweets 'Arnold'

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger on his birthday with an invitation to go skiing in Sochi.

Medvedev tweeted Schwarzenegger, who turned 65 on Monday: "Happy birthday Arnold @Schwarzenegger! Looking forward to skiing with you in Sochi."

Schwarzenegger, who met Medvedev several times as governor of California and has visited Medvedev's private gym outside Moscow, replied three hours later with a simple "Thank you!"

The skiing reference in the tweet, sent from Medvedev's English Twitter account, @MedvedevRussiaE, was a nod to a previous exchange that the two men had on Schwarzenegger's last day in office on Jan. 3, 2011. Wishing him success, Medvedev tweeted, "There are many more interesting opportunities still to come." Schwarzenegger tweeted back, "I hope you're having a great new year and can't wait to see you again — maybe skiing?"
