South Stream Transport, the Gazprom-led venture planning a natural gas pipeline to the European Union, elected its board after Wintershall and Electricite de France formally joined the project.
Henning Voscherau, former president of Germany's upper house of parliament, was elected board chairman, Gazprom said Friday. Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller and his deputy Alexander Medvedev were also named to the board.
The other board members are ENI CEO Paolo Scaroni, EDF CEO Henri Proglio and Harald Schwager, a board member at BASF, according to the statement.
