A Moscow jury on Wednesday convicted two Chechens in the killing of a Spartak football fan in July 2010, RIA-Novosti reported.
Investigators say defendants Akhmedpasha Aidayev and Bekhan Ibragi stabbed Yury Volkov, 22, who worked for Russia state television, to death in a brawl that they instigated.
The defendants are expected to be sentenced Thursday.
Volkov's death, which football fans believe was driven by ethnic hatred, has provoked public rallies against the authorities.
A defense lawyer said earlier this week that the case was being fast-tracked to placate nationalists ahead of an annual nationalist march on Nov. 4.
