Mironov Says Voting Prevents Fraud

The only way to avoid election fraud is for people to vote in the State Duma elections in December, A Just Russia leader and former Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov told Rossiya-24 in an interview broadcast on  Thursday.

To change the existing party monopoly and build a new future, Russians must use their vote, Mironov said. 

"If a large proportion of the electorate does not show up [at the polls], their ballot papers can be redistributed to someone else," Mironov said.

On Wednesday, jailed former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky also urged voters not to sit out the election.
