MINSK — A Belarussian pollster said he was detained on Thursday after reporting that President Alexander Lukashenko’s approval rating had plunged to an all-time low because of an economic crisis.
“They have not explained the reasons or charged me with anything,” said Oleg Manayev, whose Independent Institute for Social-Economic and Political Research said this week that only one in five Belarussians would vote for Lukashenko.
