Gazprom has met with the Danish transport-focused group Moller-Maersk over a possible drilling tie-up in the Arctic, Upstreamonline.com reported, citing Norwegian newsletter Petromedia.
Gazprom deputy chief executive and management board member Alexander Ananenkov held talks last week with representatives from Moller-Maersk, which includes rig contractor subsidiary Maersk Drilling.
Gazprom is believed to have insisted on a role for Russian shipbuilders as a condition for the further development of the enterprise.
