Fishing vessels have caught 317,000 tons of fish since the beginning of the year, a 6.2 percent year-on-year increase, the Federal Fisheries Agency reported.
The catch was up in all waters except the Caspian Sea. The bulk of the overall harvest typically comes from the far eastern basin, where 235,700 tons of fish have been hauled in this year. That was an increase of only 900 tons year on year. Russian vessels netted 32,600 tons of fish in the waters of other countries, 200 tons more year on year.
