Uralkali, the fertilizer maker owned by billionaire Suleiman Kerimov and partners, will control as much as 45 percent of the world’s potash trade once its merger with Silvinit is complete, Troika Dialog said.Uralkali said Dec. 20 that it agreed to pay $7.8 billion for Silvinit in a deal scheduled for completion in May.
Together with Belarusian Potash, the new Uralkali will have a market share comparable to trader Canpotex, led by Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan.
